POSTPONED:  I-75 South Corridor Public Kickoff Meeting

3/16/2020 – In an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19, officials at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One are taking the precautionary steps of postponing the public kickoff meetings to learn about the I-75 Connect Managed Lanes Study in Lee and Collier counties. The meetings were previously scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at the North Collier Regional Park – Exhibit Hall and Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at the Gulf Coast Church of Christ.

The Department will make every effort to reschedule these meetings at a future to-be-determined date. Various format options for these meetings are being explored. When more information is available, you can expect to receive a follow-up invite with those details.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, invites you to attend a public kickoff meeting to learn about the Managed Lanes Study for I-75 from SR 951 in Collier County to SR 78 in Lee County. The purpose of this project is to analyze and put in place an integrated and comprehensive transportation solution, that meets the needs of the near term, and accommodates the evolving and innovative transportation solutions of tomorrow.

For your convenience, the Department is holding two separate, but identical public kickoff meetings within the I-75 South Corridor project limits. Both meetings will be held in an informal, open-house format and are an opportunity to introduce the project and study process, present information regarding existing conditions, and receive feedback.

FDOT is sending notices to property owners located within 300 feet on either side of I-75 right-of-way within the project limits, in accordance with Florida Statutes Section 339.155(5)(c). FDOT encourages all interested people to attend and express their views regarding this study.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project is being, or has been, carried out by the FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT.
